EndoActive is hosting their 2nd Endometriosis Conference in Sydney Australia on September 9, and judging by the agenda it’s going to be awesome!
I attended their 1st conference back in 2015 and it was nothing short of amazing. Seeing hundreds of women and girls with endometriosis and their families travelling from all over was really inspiring. Lesley and Syl Freedman really pulled off an event that had thousands of women talking for months.
And I made so many connections that day including meeting Dr Susan Evans of the Pelvic Pain Foundation of Australia for the first time (who is partnering with EndoActive for this year’s conference). Her book Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain really changed my life when I first got diagnosed.
Dr Evans is one of the speakers in the awesome lineup this year, with speakers exploring a whole bunch of interesting and relevant topics. Dr Evans will be speaking on “Laparoscopy & Beyond” and Deborah Bush, co-author of Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain and CEO of Endometriosis NZ will be speaking on Self-Management.
Dr Meredith Craigie of Pelvic Pain Foundation of Australia will also be speaking on the relationship of Pain and the Brain, which we know is super-connected in chronic pelvic pain especially endometriosis. And Dr Rebecca Burgell will be speaking on Guts and Endo, the relationship between the digestive system, IBS, and endometriosis. There will be talks on medicinal cannabis, sex and intimacy, fertiliy, imaging, the pill and more!
PLUS I will be running some short stretch sessions throughout the conference to keep our bodies moving.
Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women. If it doesn’t affect you personally, it definitely affects at least one person that you know.
So what are you waiting for?
Join us on September 9 to be educated and empowered about endometriosis.
And spread the word to other women that you know. Who knows? Maybe through you, a woman with endometriosis can finally get the answers she needs and deserves!
