Case Study: Pelvic Pain
Case Study: Pregnancy
Ms U self-referred for back pain and pubic pain during her third trimester, and mentioned fatigue as well. She was found to have abdominal separation and weakness in her deep abdominal muscles and her gluteal muscles, and not engaging her breathing diaphragm well. She was given a home program of posture, breathing, core and strengthening exercises. She was also found not to be eating enough protein and healthy fats, and was low in iron. Within 4 weeks of dietary adjustments, posture and exercise, Ms U’s back pain and fatigue had reduced.
Case Study: Postpartum
Ms M self-referred as since giving birth, she began suffering from bladder leaks while at the gym, and thought her pelvic floor was weak. She was found to have prolapse of her bladder and rectum. She was fitted with a pessary to support her prolapse and given basic pelvic floor coordination exercises. Over 12 weeks, she was taught to activate her entire core system and ensuring she could activate her whole core during basic exercises such as pelvic bridges and progressed on until she could do heavy-weighted squats. Ms M can now run, jump, lift heavy weights and do Muay Thai, without any leaking.
